Involuntary processes, like circulation and digestion, happen on their own, beyond your control.
Stress reactions are part of your involuntary system. That's why it really can "make your sweat" and "hit you in the gut."
You can tell yourself to relax. Yet you don't.
The "Magic" Connection
There is one physical process that is both voluntary and involuntary. Breathing.
Through the breath, you can create control over some of your involuntary processes.
